Weltevrede Estate is a historic family wine estate nestled just outside the town of Bonnievale. Home to the Jonker family since 1912, Weltevrede has passed through four generations, each building on the pioneering legacy of founder Klaas Jonker. Langverwacht is a small co-operative winery nestled in Bonnievale along the Stormsvlei road, has a rich history dating back to 1956. Each year, the cellar processes around 13,000 tons of grapes, with 85% dedicated to white cultivars such as Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Chenin Blanc, and Colombar. Pinotage, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Ruby Cabernet are the primary red wine varieties. Langverwacht continuously invests in modern winemaking technology to ensure top quality wine.
The story of Lozärn Wines embraces three continents and breaks the mold of what you expect from a typical winery. The winemaker at Lozärn Wines is Salóme Buys-Vermeulen who is recognized for her work with rare varietals, particularly pioneering South Africa’s first single-varietal Carménère. Salóme was awarded the Woman Winemaker of the Year in 2021 and 2022. Lozärn Wines offers a truly unique wine tasting experience.
